Greenhouse & Crop Shading: Shade Powder and Shade Gel
Powder and gel shading products for greenhouse roofs and open fields against intense sun and heat.

Benefits
- Limits peak temperatures in the greenhouse
- Helps reduce sunburn risk on leaves and fruit
- Balances light intensity
- Creates a more stable growing climate
In summer, intense sunlight and high temperatures can stress crops in greenhouses and open fields, cause sunburn on leaves and fruit, and reduce yields. Shading products form a thin reflective film on the greenhouse cover or plant surface to balance light intensity and heat load.
Oseda Tarım offers shading products in powder and gel form for greenhouse roofs and open-field use. Powders form a reflective, breathable film, while gels offer stronger adhesion and less drift.
Shade powder or shade gel?
Shade powder is an economical way to form a reflective film; the film gradually washes off with rain or irrigation. Shade gel adheres more strongly thanks to its gel structure, reduces drift and gives a more uniform, longer-lasting coating. The choice depends on the greenhouse cover type, local rainfall and how long shading is needed.
When should you shade?
Shading is usually applied from late spring, when light and temperature rise sharply. In high-radiation regions such as the Mediterranean, it is one of the core summer practices for greenhouses. In autumn, when plants need more light, the film can be washed off.
Typical uses
- Summer temperature management in glass, plastic and film greenhouses
- Periods of high sunburn risk in tomato, pepper and cucumber
- Orchards and open-field crops exposed to strong sun
- Protecting seedlings and young plants from excessive light
